f. Press the darts and side seams of
lining smooth and flat with a heated
pressing iron toward the back, and
press the left and right side back
lining seam toward center back.
g. Press the pleat at center back
smooth and flat from top to bottom
edge. The folded edge of pleat on
the outside of lining shall be toward
the right side as worn.
21 Make front eyelet cover.
a. Fold front eyelet cover in half
lengthwise and stitch across the
bottom edge with a 1/4 inch seam.
b. Turn cover right side out, press
and crease the folded edge smooth and
flat with a heated pressing iron.
22 Attach front eyelet cover to facing.
a. Position the eyelet cover on the

outside of the right front facing,
with the top, bottom and front raw
edges even. Stitch the cover to the
facing 3/16 to 1/4 inch from raw
edges.
23 Seam wool facing to lining assembly.
Finished appearance. The lining
shall be carefully aligned and seamed
to the facing so that in the finished
jacket, the lining shall lie smooth
and flat along the facing without
creases, bulges, overlapping of
excess material, or other defect or
distortion.
a. Position the lining on the wool
facing with the top edges even and
notches matching.
b. Seam the front edge of the lining

to the back edge of the facing 3/8
inch from the edge. The stitching
shall extend from the top edge of the
facing to approximately 1 inch from
the bottom edge of facing.
