47 Press fronts.
Press each front smooth and flat on a
suitable type heated pressing machine
to conform to the shape of the body
and eliminate excess fullness in the
breast.
48 Make buttonholes.
Finished appearance. The buttonholes
shall be clean cut, well made, well
worked over gimp to fit 40-line
insignia buttons. The gimp and
thread shall be pulled through to the
outside of the front. The purling of
the buttonholes shall be on the
outside of the front. The inside
edge of the eyelet end of the
buttonhole shall be 5/8 inch from the
front edge of jacket. The
buttonholes shall be cut first type.
a. Mark the left front for the
location of seven buttonholes. The
mark for the top and bottom
buttonholes shall be in accordance
with marks on the patterns. The
marks for the remaining five
buttonholes shall be evenly spaced.
b. Make a horizontal eyelet end,
